From a drawing to the day you walk in
Five steps. The one that decides most of the answer is the second, which is why it happens before anything is ordered.
01
Pick a model
Eight of them, from a 20 ft studio to three containers on two levels. Each one is drawn, specified and priced on this site. Start from the one closest to what you want.
02
Check the ground
Where it goes matters as much as which model you pick: the access a truck needs, how level the ground is, and what your own city and county allow on a lot that size. Those rules differ between Utah cities, so check with yours before you order. Tell us what they say and we will build to it.
03
Change what you want changed
The published price is the starting point. Move a wall, add windows, change the finishes, add a solar and battery package. You get a drawing and a written price before anything starts.
04
We build it
Cutting and reframing, spray foam, wiring and plumbing, then cabinets, flooring and trim. You get photographs as it goes, because a build you cannot see is a build you worry about.
05
Delivered and set
It arrives on a truck and is set on the foundation or piers your site needs, then connected to power, water and waste. You walk in the same day.
RenderingWhat the price covers
Starting price covers the conversion as it is drawn. Delivery, site work, foundations, utility connections and upgrade packages are quoted for your site.
That is not a hedge. What a container home costs to put on your land depends almost entirely on the land: a flat lot with power at the boundary and a sloping lot with nothing on it are different jobs before anybody picks a countertop. The unit price is fixed and published. The rest is quoted once we have seen where it goes.
The questions everybody asks
Asked in roughly the order people ask them.
- Is it warm enough for a Utah winter?
- Every unit is spray foam insulated, walls, roof and floor, and the models carry a mini split for heating and cooling. The sheets say comfortable year round and that is what the insulation package is for. Tell us where it is going and we will tell you what we build into it.
- Where can I legally put one?
- It depends on the city and the county, and in Utah it varies between them. Some treat a container home as an accessory dwelling unit, some as a manufactured home, and some will not allow one on a given lot. Zoning and permits are between you and your jurisdiction, so ask them about your address first. Once you know what they want, we will build to it.
- What does it sit on?
- Piers, a slab, or a foundation, depending on the ground and on what your jurisdiction asks for. A container carries its load at the four corners, which is what makes the simpler options possible. The Teton is different: it stays on its trailer.
- Can it run off grid?
- Every model is built off-grid ready, and solar, battery and water systems are available as a package. Off-grid ready means the unit is wired and plumbed to take those systems, not that they are included in the starting price.
- Can I move it later?
- A container unit can be lifted and trucked to a new site. The Teton is built on a 53 ft semi trailer specifically so it can be relocated between properties or job sites without a crane.
- What does the starting price include?
- The conversion as it is drawn: the container, the structural work, insulation, windows and doors, the electrical package, the kitchen and the bathroom, and the interior finish. Delivery, site work, foundations, utility connections and upgrade packages are quoted for your site.
- How long does it take?
- Ask us for your build. It depends on the model, the changes you make and where you are in the queue, and a number published on a website is a number somebody will hold us to.
- Can an AI assistant request a quote for me?
- Yes. An assistant that works in a browser for you, such as ChatGPT's agent, Claude or Grok, can fill in the request on our contact page: there is no account to make, no card to give and nothing to get past first. It will need your name, your email address, your phone number if you want to give one, which model, where it is going, and anything else you want us to know. Check what it has filled in before it sends, because the drawing and the price we come back with are built on it.
Tell us where it is going
Tell us the model you like, what you would change, and what your city has told you about building on the lot. We will come back with a drawing and a written price. Homes start at $62,500.
